Ode To Moving Day

Boxes and tape we meet yet again,
Where did we pack X, an all too familiar refrain.
Boxes and tape intended to bind,
Have the opposite effect on good friends left behind.

Beginnings and endings criss cross in the fray.
Are all these "things" necessary to live everyday?
Worldly possessions weigh heavily, pun intended.
Freedom from them can be both disturbing and splendid.

We have little memory of what we packed where.
We just know we'll need it when we get there.
The truck has been loaded, no time to wallow
Another move down, how many more shall follow?
Outdoor furniture doubles as living room furniture for our last days on the island.
